I love my Toyo 45CF because I can store several of my small lenses, when the camera is folded down. Setup is a breeze when I am in the field, I can open and its ready to shoot. Most of the times I like the idea of carrying just that one lens that was packed with the camera.

I am new to Chamonix 45F2. I love its design and looks, except the fact that I have to attach the lens board after setting up the front standard. Packing a lens facing front when folded is out of the question. I have been pondering if it is possible to pack the camera with a lens facing backwards. I came so close with a Fujinon-W 150mm f/6.3. The rear element is razor thin in this old beauty and I can fit the lens facing backwards while I fold the Chamonix down. But it seems one of the shutter levers is still digging into the bellows when the camera is folded down. I do not want to take the risk of poking or damaging the bellows.

Anyone else have had luck with stowing a lens facing backwards in the front standard in their Chamonix 45N/F? I am aware that the 45H is a better option if I want the camera ready to shoot in field, but thats not what I am here for. Thanks beforehand.

I tried and looked and nothing is close to small enough.
Same with my 5x7" Toyo-View, not even the 6x9cm 65mm Angulon.

They are not designed to do that unfortunately. I never know what lens I want mounted in advance so I never considered it a problem. Attaching a lensboard takes seconds. It is a fair tradeoff for the light weight and small overall package when folded up.
