Sir
I recently purchased a Rodenstock Rodagon 300mm F1:5.6 enlarging lens. I hope to use this lens on my 8x10 enlarger. I have several questions.
1. This appears to be a coated lens. Is it single or multicoated?
2. Is this a six element lens?
3. It appears to have a thread size of 72MM. Is that correct and if so where can I obtain the retaining ring?
4. Is this lens still manufactured?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to thank the many people of this forum that have helped me.
Sincerely,
Jerry Cunningham

The only multi coated enlarging lenses from Rodenstock is the Apo Rodagon N. Yours is NOT multi coated.
It is a 6 element lens. Or was as it is no longer made. The retaining ring thread size should be 90mm.
If you are in the USA we have the ring or your camera store can order it from us for you . It is part number 1030 0701 113 104 90mm X 1.0 pitch

I think your going to like that lens. I have one also. I printed with it for the first time last night. I just aquired an 8x10 Salsman off the bay. My back is still sore taking it down, hauling it home, and assembling it. Last night was the payoff, 20x24 from 8x10 neg, a smile is on my face. The apature ring is a little stiff. It works ok when it's warm but the 9.5 ft tall beast lives in the garage, and it's cold there now. The glass was better than I expected, I'm getting my full $42.00 worth out of it.
