I have searched the posts here and many years ago someone asked this same question, but it really wasn't answered. The question is, is there a separate timer that can be hooked up to the omega super Chromega D Dichroic II Enlarger. Right now I have their original Chromegatrol. I'd love to have a digital timer so I could have more precise, visual timing and saw someone post an image of the Chromegatrol 2 which is digital. Has anyone tried other timers or have they found the #2 version of the Chromegatrol?

Any Grablab of sufficient wattage tolerance will work, even the old dial-hand ones. But they obviously made a selection of more modern ones too. The units are conspicuously labeled with what is meant to be plugged into what. Easy to set up. I have used an electronic Gralab 505 for many years. It will easily handle double the wattage of a Chromega D.

I'm using Gralab 450s with my Chromega power sources. I don't have the Chromegatrol, just the standard stabilized power source. With it, there are outlets for the enlarger timer.

If you don't want to use the Chromegatrol, and use an external timer, you need to use the un-regulated Chromega D power supply. In that case, just about any timer plugs into the back of it.

Thank you! This should work out very well.

Gralabs work fine in line with Chromegatrol units. One is a timer, the other a power regulator.
