Hi
I'm wondering if a universal colorhead single lamp is configured to fit on an MXT and suitable for 4x5 negs?
Thanks
Jon

There are two totally different kinds of Beseler "Universal". The colorhead looks nothing like the antique linked above. It's a big complex relatively modern thing.

Maybe not
Besler degraded their condenser diameter decades ago, but both types will print 4X5..The key is to measure the hole they fit in, one is bigger like my CB7

What is the outside diameter of your head?
at the part that has the condensers?

Yes, I'm aware of the label. But it's not what anyone in the last 70 years would classify as an actual colorhead. It's just an ordinary beehive condenser head which potentially used a drawer for sake of colored filter sheets - a bit of marketing ploy or ancient history by now. No big deal, since you posted an actual picture of it. If you hadn't, there would have been some confusion.

If you shine a white light through a color negative/positive onto color paper - that makes it a color-head. You put correction filters in the drawer to adjust the color cast.

i have both the colorhead and the blue standard head. both fit the mxt, absolutely no difference in sizes or condenser set up.
i get full 4x5 coverage when the condenser height is adjusted properly.

Good to know, I no longer have MX
Read the CB7 manual at the link, it refers to Super Sized much bigger condensers
But I do have two CB7 (http://www.jollinger.com/photo/cam-coll/manuals/enlargers/beseler/Beseler_CB-7%20Brochure.pdf) and the Besler XL (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/3994-REG/Beseler_8545_02_45V_XL_Enlarger_Chassis_Only.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=CjwKCAjw1JeJBhB9EiwAV612y0Kpghv5haj0xqHBinDRP0tMMxKNdwg41wr2Y0yH-Fx7otDt-HUIjBoCZekQAvD_BwE)
They share a bigger head interface than MXT (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/3991-REG/Beseler_8227_45MXT_Enlarger_Chassis_Only.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=CjwKCAjw1JeJBhB9EiwAV612y1MmKbDw2rD-Grp0VwWS6FGUiqiR1xmeArFi04nntiTXSo9reIa7jRoCXiIQAvD_BwE)
