I've been working on a large format portraiture project for the last four years called "The Face of Competition." It was shot on Polaroid Type 55 film.
It was published Sunday, Feb 12th in the Sunday magazine of the newspaper I work at, The Hartford Courant, in Hartford, CT.
There is an on-line flash presentation version on the Courant's website at http://www.courant.com.
The link to NE (the Sunday magazine) is on the right side of the home page.
It requires flash to view (you are directed to a fere download if you don't have it)
Comments are welcome.
Thanks
Bruce
I enjoyed viewing your wonderful work! Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to see it but your paper's website javascript pop-up window told me I needed the Flash plug-in (which I already had, and I've been viewing other Flash sites that do work). Even after reinstalling Flash player it still won't work for me. You might want to mention this to your web folks as I suspect the problem is on their end.
In the meantime is there any other way to view it?

I had the same problem that Henry reported (but I didn't try to reinstall the flash player). I am using Firefox on Linux, and I can view other flash sites with no problem.
nice work Bruce...my favorite is the one of the ballroom dancers...great composition on that one...I was wondering what your focal length of lenses are for these shots...like the one of the girl who grapples...and the snow boarder...was that a 240 mm? Thank for sharing!

I'll check with the websire people at work. I know that it needs the latest version of flash (you can get it if you click on the "get flash" icon on the startup screen).
Almost everything was shot using a Nikkor 210 mm on a Tachihara.

Great work Bruce, I like the variety of sports and people and can imagine you had to move quickly to get some of the photos. How long did your project take and are you going to keep doing it?

Frank:
The project took about 4 years.
I plan on continuing to shoot, maybe try to put together a book later on.
