Should be pretty easy to trace out. Just take it out and start drawing.

There is a simple 'logic' relay (black rectangle) and two micro-switches and a cam that control the opening and closing movement. I my case, the shutter jammed (enlarger was in a community darkroom) and probably someone shut it down when the resistor blew (fortunately like a fuse protecting the motor) and gave off a lot of smoke.

Subsequently they sold it to me. The repair was easy: unjam the shutter and replace the burned resistor.

In your case...could be any one of a hundred occult things based on the (normal looking) picture.

Yeah. It seems like the 1000 watt head is quite different from the 2000 watt. Until I can find a diagram for my set up , I’m not sure even how it works 100%. The EST 1000N power unit has a plug on the back that I’m not even sure if it has to be used or not. Tempted to just sell it.

Is it normal for the shutter to remain open when the head is not powered?

My CLS2000 shutter is closed all the time and only opens during exposure.
