Can someone confirm or deny whether the 10 3/4" Dagor covers 717? I just got a 270 claron and it does cover but no movements, so was curious what else other than the computars will serve as a wide angle for 717, thanks.

My 240mm Graphic Kowa easily covers. Heaps of movement.

I also have a 210mm Super Angulon - massive, but 1) able to be found used b) I keep both kidneys and c) ideal for wide Angle with movements.

So, the kit is 210mm, 240mm, 305mm G Claron (Dagor), 355mm G Claron (Plasmat), 450mm Nikkor and a random 520mm Kodak copy lens (untested).

P.S. the 10 3/4" Dagors should cover.

My 10 3/4" Dagor was my favorite lens on my 7x17 Korona. Probably 90% of exposures were made at f22, and there was no vignetting. Although I have other lenses, it was rarely off the camera until I sold it to move down to 5x12 in my late 80's. I have not found anything to equal it's view, etc on the 512.

Great, thanks for all the responses, will check them out. Just checked the bay for the 210 sa and couldn't see anything affordable, curious how much they usually go for Lachlan. Also, any chance you could post shots w your 210, 240 and/or 270 to see how wide they are on 717? I've been working w a 12" dagor and a 16.5" artar, suddenly got the urge for something wider. Thanks.

Yes, the 10 3/4" Dagor absolutely covers 7x17. And it is a great focal length for that format.

I no longer pursue 7x17, but when I did, it was a favorite focal length. The lens I had I purchased for about $700. And I sold it a few years later for the same amount. That was then, this is now. So YMMV.

Another choice for wide angle on 7x17 would be the Kodak 250mm Wide-Field Ektar. But the 10 3/4" Dagor is a lot smaller!

Cheers!
