Can anyone recommend a lab in San Francisco or Oakland or San Jose for C41 and E6 processing.
The New Lab in SF or Calypso in Santa Clara are both excellent.

Another vote for Calypso Imaging (www.calypsoinc.com/ (http://www.calypsoinc.com/)).
I used Calypso by mail order for the last two large batches (30-50 sheets each) and am very happy with the results. I'd like to support local labs and still use them, but they charge $4 per sheet (E-6) compared with $1.30 with Calypso (and free shipping for a volume order). With some volume, it's not really a competition price-wise. The experience has been very satisfying.
When I visited Death Valley around Christmas, I took an order form with me and mailed the films to Calypso from Las Vegas. It worked well. Turn-around has been about 2 weeks from the Detroit area.

I use Calypso all the time - I live less than 4 miles from them and they have been consistently excellent.

Thanks for the help. The west coast processing fees are very reasonable.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Light Waves (http://www.lightwavesimaging.com). They've got stores in both SF and Berkeley and run up to 8x10 on BW and E6 and up to 12x20 on C41. I know for a fact that they run all of Richard Misrachs film and his huge expanses of open sky demand perfect processing or you'll see mottling.

I've also had terrific experiences with Light Waves in Berkeley for 120 E6 (I've not used them for 4x5). I believe their E6 is done in Berkeley and they send their C41 and B&W to their SF outlet.

I use Calypso for E-6. I don't believe they do C41 processing anymore.

I use Calypso from all the way over in Hawaii. They don't do C41 anymore however.
