Large and rather interesting Schneider Optik lens in large shroud or barrel???

This is a very interesting and large Schneider lens that almost looks like a 300mm or 360mm view camera lens adapted to fit in this large shroud or barrel but, it is marked Schneider so, this was probably designed t fit this lens. The aperture only goes from f/5.6 to f/11 which seems rather odd but, the aperture blades seem that they could certainly go down more. Any info on this would be highly appreciated! The inside diameter in the mount is 2.31". The lens is about 4.066 inches measured on the outer edges of the front element and it is very heavy. I added an URL at the very end

From the aperture mechanism, I'd guess it was taken from an old photocopy machine.

I know about a Schneider Xenon 300mm f/2 Made for Cine cameras, I mean it were offered for Super 35mm cine film.

I never saw it IRL life but the dimensions of the lens are looking like it.

Maybe the owner used it for a larger format, 24x36mm or medium Format and stoped the aperture at f/5.6 beacuse of the bad resolution in the corners when using a much larger film size.

My first tought was that it could be a Pentacon 6 mount. But then again, the 3 petals look a bit too large to be P6. What is the diameter of the lens mount (with and without the petals)?

Have seen a similar Schneider lens (as I remember approximately the same focal length) that was initially a cine lens but was adapted to a SLR camera. The one I saw had only one marked aperture setting but the iris would close down to smaller settings. Lens was made to be used at this one optimum aperture.

Very likely a Mamiya 645 mount. (P6 has 3 identical petals, M645 has 3 different sized ones)

It is a Vario-Claron (242-258mm), so some sort of industrial lens. A photocopier lens is a good guess.

Yes. I think you are correct. Thanks. I think this could maybe used for macro 1:1 photography if you get to adapt it to a camera mount
