Hi

I was lucky enough to acquire a mint xenotar 150mm 2.8, but it does not come with any spacer and retainer ring. It came with a silver ring copal 3 shutter.

I took the spacer and retainer from my other copal 3 lens and it seems to fit. So my question is if the spacer and retainer ring are interchangeable between different lens but the same shutter model.

If your current lens requires the spacers to be accurate, yes. If not, NO!
The diameter may be appropriate, but the thickness is at least, possibly more, as important.

Can you explain like I am 5 why the thickness matter? I would like to understand better

Are you asking about the mounting spacer ring. This has no effect on function. Jim may be thinking of spacers associated with the elements within the shutter.

Yes, I am thinking of spacers between lens elements and shutter.

You can usually find the spacers and retaining rings on Ebay.
