I recently picked up this lens and figured lens cap size would be easy to find and caps easy to purchase...I was wrong. I've found links to the G Claron lenses at 125px, but no info on the size of the lens caps needed. I've seen another post that listed the sizes of the caps for the 150 and 240, but not the 270. There was also a link to an old Schneider specification page, but that link is now broken.

Anyone happen to know what size caps I need to protect this?

Thanks in advance!

Terrel

Take a look at this link:
https://125px.com/docs/manuals/lenses/large_format/schneider/gcn.pdf

By my reading, it looks like 60mm front and 57mm rear for the kind of slip-over cap that surrounds the front, but check it yourself, I don't guarantee my reading.

Also measure it yourself to double-check; inches x 25.4 = mm

There are also two versions of this lens, the older Dagor type and the later, more common, plasmat type (which is what I have).
The front filter thread is 58mm
Rear, plastic Schneider cap is marked 57, and the slip on size does seem right at 57mm
My front cap is an old leather / velvet one, but the slip on size appears to be 60mm

The link robphoto posted brings you to the August 1998 spec sheet, which covers the newer version lenses and shows 60mm front and 57mm rear push-on caps. The older Dagor-type 270 Tracy mentioned uses 51mm front and 48mm rear push-on caps.

51mm is a smidge over 2" and 60mm is just under 2-3/8", a big enough difference that you can tell which type lens you have with just about any old ruler you've got lying around.

Thank you all very much!

I had seen that link, but hadn't put together that one of the text columns of the upper data included English. What can I say - I'm an idiot.

But I do appreciate the answers to you all!
