Any Toyo fans here happen to know what the differences are between the 810G and GII models? Tried to look at the MAC user forum, but it seems to be down at the moment.

I use the Toyo 8x10 and 4x5 cameras in my studio and the only difference I can see is that the GII models are all black on the uprights instead of chrome, perhaps the knobs are slightly different. My 4x5 is a GII and black as described, and the 8x10 is a G and the uprights are chrome. Otherwise I cannot see much difference.

My impression is consistent with Paul's - cosmetic differences only.

Thanks. Just to confirm on one point - does the 810G have a bail lift on the back?

I have two second-hand 810G cameras. The backs differ. Both have a bail arm, but the older (I guess) only lifts one side of the GG frame whereas the newer lifts the entire GG frame parallel with the back - MUCH better.

Also, the older one is visually slightly different in that the knobs have brushed aluminum end covers - very 60's look.

Otherwise they seem identical.
