Climax Photo is stocking polypropylene negative sleeves in sizes they used to only make on a custom basis. They also, of course, carry common sizes like 4x5, 5x7, and 8x10.

The larger sizes are:

4x10
5x12
6.5x8.5
7x11
7x17
8x20
10x12
12x20

I use their 4x10 sleeves and have been very happy with them. They ship to anywhere in the world.

Last time tried to order, 8x20 was out of stock. I was told it wasn't likely to come back. I do like their sleeves. I use the 7x11, 10x12, and 12x20 sleeves.

Thanks for the heads up. I just opened a new (NOS) box of Kodak 11x14 plastic sleeves -- sweet, but they won't last forever...perhaps I shopuld pick up some replacements while I am thinking about it.

Geez, a 100 pack of 4x10 is $20 but minimum shipping cost is $22 (to US). That’s savage!

Might be worth while giving them a call and asking them to cut it in half.

Edit -- looks like they charge actual shipping costs -- perhaps instead of folding them into the cost of the goods. It would be nice if they offered something besides priority shipping when using USPS.

My box of 100 11x14 plastic sleeves weighs a touch over 4 pounds. Still, it might be worthwhile to make it a phone-in order and talk to them about shipping costs.

I agree with Vaughn, that's a conversation worth having.

Even with shipping at the quoted rate, the sleeves are a great price. Buy a thousand 8x10 sleeves for 30 cents each, including shipping. And 50 cents each if you buy only 200.

Just ordered some whole plate sleeves. Thanks for the heads-up.

By the way, Priority Shipping is currently the cheapest way to ship parcels, at least for small businesses. 1st Class parcel post is actually running a few cents more and takes 3x as long. USPS’ cost schedule is entirely screwball.

FedEx Ground is sometimes cheaper. UPS is always more expensive. For international orders, DHL Express is sometimes cheapest, usually not, but is fastest, most reliable way to get something overseas and worth the few extra bucks.

(Based on what I’ve seen for the past year shipping dry plates).
