this filter is a big i big sucker!

I am looking for one or two of these so I can keep the CWF filter on my Linhof 617 Technorama.

I had a problem finding a lens cap for my Rodenstock center filter. It came with a cap for one side, but I couldn't find anything that fit the other side. So I fashioned one from some plastic sheeting I found at a hobby shop. I cut out a circular section and strip to fit around the side and glued the latter to the former with some plastic cement. It took some fiddling, but I got it done, and it works fine.

Nope. The Schneider Center Filter IV requires a 115mm push on cap. My filter came with a cap. I'll check tonight, but I'm pretty sure the Schneider part number is: 91-030399. If so, B&H has it in stock. Their part number is: SCLC115 and the price is $23.95.

I lost a cap for my Rodenstock. Calumet had a large selection of sizes in a generic brand that were good quality, a perfect fit and cheap.

Too bad. Had it been one of the Kaiser sizes the list price is only $14.50 for the 120mm one.

Custom caps from Grimes always a possibility.

Yes, that's all well and good, but I'd personally rather pay $23.95 for a cap that fits than $14.50 for one that doesn't.

Kerry,

I said "Had it been"

I didn't suggest he buy one that did't fit. How could you have read otherwise?

My reading comprehension is fine, thanks. It seemed totally pointless to me to list over 60 sizes of lens caps - none of which help the original poster in his search for a cap for his Schneider center filter - and THEN go on to list the price of a cap that you know doesn't fit and is totally irrelevant to the original poster's question.
