Finishing up another Covid camera, this one a point and shoot 8x10 point and shoot using a 210mm f/5.6 Fujinon L. This camera uses a Deardorff 8x10 back, has two Arca Swiss plates, one for for horizontal, one for vertical tripod shooting with a removable handgrip that is a modded Redrock Micro handle that mounts to the vertical plate for handheld use. The finder is a Koni Omega and the rangefinder is a Telex rangefinder. Second set of test sheets are at the lab.

Very nice. What do you use for the cone? I thought the Fujinon-L was a Tessar - does it cover 8x10?

Yes . . .the cone: Is that a kitchen mixing bowl?

Very good!
I like the grip design, a simple solution I will copy
I prefer to keep a back removable and rotate it
I imagine a 5X7
endless possibilities!

Stainless kitchen bowl with truck bed liner spray on the back and epoxy paint on the front.

Hey Steve, it does cover quite well. I had one years ago on an Arca Swiss 8x10 and it was tight on movements but in this configuration it’s perfect!

Oh, jzsf*k, Dirk, that’s just awesome.
Does the back remove? If it does, you can use splitters to shoot 5x8 and 4x10....

Stainless kitchen bowl with truck bed liner spray on the back and paint on the front.
Now *that* is just... inspired.

Hey everyone, I love the responses, thank you! Makes countless hours at the workbench and numerous trips to one of three hardware stores (because they each have different inventory) more fun!
Unfortunately the back does not remove, mostly because I got a bunch of ‘old camera that you might be interested in...’ from a friend and he only had the GG back and frame and not the entire rear standard. I pulled the 8 Deardorff pins out and have them if anyone needs them. Close focus isn’t horrible but it isn’t the best, I haven’t indexed the helical yet, once I do, I’ll share what it is.
Dirk
UPDATE: 11 feet 6 inches is the closest focus, the helical is indexed from 12 feet to infinity.
