Any thoughts on using a Schneider Kreuznach Comparnar 105/f4.5 as a taking lens on a 4x5 speed graphic? Has anyone tried this? Would it cover 4x5? Plan to shoot black and white only. Any inputs greatly appreciated.

Not the best idea. Perhaps for closeup work but not at distance. The Componar (is that what you meant? You misspelled it.) is a triplet, almost certainly won't cover 4x5 at distance.

You might have meant Comparon or Componon. Better enlarging lenses that the Componar. 105s shouldn't cover 4x5 at distance.

Relatively inexpensive and not too hard to find 100 mm +/- w/a lenses that cover 4x5 include 88/6.8 B&L, 90/6.8 Raptar/Optar, 90/6.8 Angulon, perhaps 90/8 Ilex (sold under a variety of names). 100/6.3 Aristostigmats can sometimes be found in shutter, are more common in barrel. 100/6.3 Wide Field Ektar, more expensive.

the componon f/5.6 version almost covers 4x5 at infinity, with tons of vignetting.

Kinda depends, as Dan says

I like in camera vignetting

Funny, that's the definition of not covering.
