The brass lens cells on my old petzval are difficult to thread and unthread on and off the brass barrel. The threads are not crossed. What is recommended to help smooth the screwing on and off these lens? Graphite?
Thank you for your help.

I have the opposite problem
Let's use one thread
Mine is too loose and needs something

makes sense. Thanks. Let's hear from all the LF gurus.
Try cleaning them with lighter fluid and tissue, then dry. I've put a thin coating of anti seize white grease on all my threads.

Clean the threads with Naphtha and a Q-tip, then dust lightly with graphite, brush off excess.

Clean threads with mouse oil and get rid of all dirts. Put a tiny bit of silicone grease.

If too loose, put some Teflon tape on the threads :o

Good idea David!
I am looking for my thin teflon tape, a roll I tested on Instron (https://instron.us/) 52 years ago, it is the best Teflon tape I ever used
I have many others
Once used to tighten I hope to never loosen that rare lens again
Super Glue is the asshole answer, I would need to attach a note to lens to carefully use heat
or low temp solder....
I am seeking other answers here and now
Tomorrow the custom Zimba lensboard for it arrives
If too loose, put some Teflon tape on the threads :o

Thank you for your great responses. I tried the "Q-tip with lighter fluid" on the threads of my old Leclair Petzval and it worked wonderfully.
Best to all,
Jon
