good afternoon all, I'm making some large scale photograms using the scrolling development method. After one extremely $ printing session I figured it was time to ask for advice. Does anyone have a video or tips that explain or illustrate how this technique is done correctly? The biggest problems I'm running across are uneven development and dinging the paper.

Finally, I was thinking that I could just lay the paper in the sink and brush developer on it. Anyone have thoughts on this?

thanks -
Dave

A cellulose sponge does a decent job. You may want to use diluted developer to slow it down some to get the action more even. As far as the scrolling technique are you using anything as a spool for support, ie taping to a pvc pipe section?

Gary,
I was using the weight of the paper, is about 6 feet and I'm standing above the tray dipping one edge then gentle pulling it through. I was thinking of adding a bar across the tray top to keep the paper from falling out and spilling chemistry.

I'll try the cellulose sponge and diluted developer next time.
