Hello. I'm a semi-retired Architect who has played with Nikons for the last umpteen years. I've always been aware of LF but never got off dead-center until I picked up a decent used TOYO 45G for an obscenely low price at an auction. It's missing a few items (lens & board primarily) but I'm actively searching for deals on essentials.

Welcome to the forum.

Although a wee bit on the heavy side, you have a very good camera system. If you don't already have one, you'll need a bag bellows . . . especially for architectural photography.

This forum will be a good resource as you make your way into LF. Have Fun.

Welcome to the forum, Karl!

Since you are a Nikon fan, there are some great sharp and contrasty Nikkor large format lenses available to use on your Toyo!

Thank you all for the warm reception.
Is there a way around the 1-month wait to get to the Buy/sell forum?
I'm looking for missing pieces of the TOYO-View sdo I can get started.

No no way to access the FS WTB forum until a member for 30 days and we have good reason for this rule. All that said the guy who would probably supply or locate a Toyo bit would probably be B.S Kumar (a long time member/sells here & Photrio) and he has a photo gear business out of Japan and you can PM him for his email address unless it's in his personal page found here. https://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/member.php?1796-B-S-Kumar

BTW Welcome to the club Karl & look forward to your future contributions to the forum.

Karl, welcome to the website. I am also a professional architect - and practice in Washington State. As John says above a bag bellows for wide angle lens use is very useful for architectural photography. I have been able to find various parts for my cameras on: craigslist, e-bay, various stores that sell used cameras and parts. I buy lens boards every time I get a new lens.

Thanks, Louis.

Karl, I can get you any accessories you need for the Toyo system. Please send me a message, or better, an email and we'll take it from there.
To send a message or email, click on my name, and you'll get options for both.

Thank you Louis - never hurts to ask.
I am well aware of Mr. Kumar and Photrio (both contributed heavily to getting my venture off the ground and I visit at least once daily).
Will be contacting him as soon as I understand what parts I need.
Word has it he's a pretty nice guy.

Ummm... Just noticed that my location isn't showing. Is this a setting I missed or is it a time-delay kind of thing.
I'm in New Stanton. Mind if I ask where in PA you are?

OMG.
It's from HIM!!!

Thanks, Kumar. Ari from Photrio recommended I contact you back a month or two ago.
Right now I'm mostly trying to learn what I'm looking at - put a small fortune into reference books the last few days.
Some of the items you post leave me in awe.
I WILL be in touch.

Thank you Robert.
I actually wasn't thinking about Architectural photography when I jumped in. Micro/Macro is my primary interest but due to the capabilities of LF I may just change my mind.
Yes, I visit those sites regularly also.
In addition, I frequent a number of auction sites in PA. So far it's netted me the TOYO, a Rollei SL 2000F motor and a Zenza-Bronica ETRS. The last two came from a Doctor's estate and are MINT+++.
