I'm using a Flextight, and getting a problem on scans. The first 1.5cm or so of the leading edge (going into the scanner) of the negative is slightly blurred on the scan. (This is happening on both 6x7 and 4x5 negatives.) I believe the problem is perhaps vibration related somehow. I say this because the blurred parts of the scans often seem sort of "wavy," rather than just soft. I'm not sure whether I can get an image to show well enough what is going on, but I've tried below. The first one is good, where I mounted with that edge of the negative on the trailing edge going into the scanner. Then I reversed the negative so that the same part of the image was on the leading edge. The third image is a close-up from a different image - note the very light horizontal stripes. Any ideas what is happening? If so, is it something I can fix myself?

If you don't get an answer here I recommend contacting Jimmy at B23 ApS Hasselblad Repair in Copenhagen. He is very knowledgeable and has parts for older scanners. He has helped me and was very nice and easy to work with.

You might want to consider posting this on the Imacon users group at groups.io

Gerry Yaeger, who moderates the group, and other members have extensive experience using and troubleshooting Imacon scanners. Gerry's website, The Digital Coach is also a great resource. http://thedigitalcoach.com/

All the best,
M

Super old thread - new problem. I'm trying to update my scanner software to 4.8.13 but the download on two sites doesn't have a file extension. I'm using Mac OS 10.13 and changing the (non)extension to .zip or .dmg doesn't do anything. Does anyone remember how to unpack these old install files?
