Hi,
I inherited a range of old large format equipment from a dear old friend some time ago.
The mans family had a studio in country NSW (Australia) from perhaps the 1850's to 1975.
Amongst the equip was a leather case with a number of aluminium and wooden constructed double darks.
There are 6 that are 8 x 4 inches with a leaf spring in the back so designed for glass plates?
The case has a notice in the lid, "Important, After use see that the camera is replaced in the case with the tension spring at 1 and the blind run down."
I just wonder what the camera might have been as its a format I haven't come across before.
