I use the ground glass of the camera. Place two or more retail bar code panels from packages in the composition and view the GG while manipulating the front standard while wide open. I stop down to near the shooting aperture with astrong lights on for another check.

The ground glass is truth.

Oh yeah. . .don't forget to pull out the bar code panels.
