I did not know this format was a thing, and in fact I only came across it when browsing the Chamonix website, but apparently they sell 8x8 film holders. These are just 8x10 holders with an 8x8 film opening. Apparently Ilford will make it during their ULF sale, or you can cut the film down. I couldn't resist, so I ordered a couple holders.

In the process, I ordered 2 5x7 holders that will expose a 5x5 square! That will be great for enlarging.

Like I said, hip to be square.

Why all the fuss? Just crop square. (BTW, square is my preferred cropping.)

I really like square three... but not equipped to shoot 5x5 or 8x8. Enjoy!

Very cool, hadn't noticed that on the Chamonix website. Have fun! Long ago - must be around 20 years at this point - Butch Welch built a multiformat camera for 8x10, 7x11... and 9x9! That's the only square sheet film format I've heard of in photographic use before this.

This way you can print with black film borders.

This is a 4x5 sheet of Fuji HRU XRay cut from 8x10 stock. Then exposed in my 9x9cm Plaubel Makiflex Standard. I particularly like the rounded film gate corners when printed full sheet. The lens was my smaller version 240mm Schneider chrome barrel Tele-Arton, which is great for 9x9cm closeups.

The increase in film size offers great fidelity over 6x6cm reflex cameras.

I took an old darkslide and cut it to expose only an 11x11 area on 11x14. Works fine, but have used it only a couple times.

I made a Bitza 11X!1 pinhole using 11X14 film holder, but not liking the pinhole

Need to make it P&S with a good lens

Argentum Camera Manufactura of Hungary makes 8x8 and 10x10 format cameras and film holders.

It is obvious that your 11x!1 is exclamationarily better than my 11x11.
