Someone has offered me an American camera from the 1890s that I'm interested in. The camera does have a ground glass included. Who can make very nice wooden holders to match a camera like this? It certainly predates the Graphex style holders. As a guess, how much would it cost for a 5x7 holder? I'd like the holder to be made for dry plates as was originally used in the camera.

Check eBay, there are lots of very affordable vintage 5x7 dry plate film holders for sale. Good chance you will find something that works or that can be modified easily by a woodworker to fit your camera. Best if we knew the maker of the camera but it is not much of a problem to solve.

Having holders custom made is a very timeconsuming process and therefore very costly. Currently I'm replicating a plateholder for a 1850 wetplate camera.....takes a few days to get everything properly done.
As a reference have a look at the prices asked by companies that still make big platecameras like Chamonix ....
