FEATURE DOCUMENTARY “QUEEN OF PARADIS”
Amazon Video
This is a bit different
The Artist Photographer ***-Visualizes an image, makes a maquette, finds a location, puts herself in the odd setting and has her partner capture the image she directs
Then adjust space and color around her vision, into large prints
Yet she remains as the only real thing

How does one "Pre" visualize?
Adams Visualized yet somehow folks now can "pre" visualize.
Is this a learned thing or a natural talent?

I know and have read the 'Pre' arguments
In this case if you watch the movie, you will 'see' that Reine's prints are recollections from childhood and based on reality and in reality
Pre-artistic consciousness perhaps

The Documenting movie is also the Art, they used lavalieres and cell phones to great advantage showing and telling conceived notions
"Ansel Adams famously said that the photographic negative is like a composer’s score, and the print a performance." lifted from https://ccp.arizona.edu/exhibitions-events/events/ansel-adams-performing-print#:~:text=Ansel%20Adams%20famously%20said%20that,and%20the%20print%20a%20performance.&text=Comparing%20and%20contrasting%20more%20than,and%20overall%20contrast%20and%20brightness.
Recently I saw Merg Ross print 'The Stairs' on his website here http://www.mergross.com/portfolio_1.htm
Without title in the link, which makes it full abstract for me
Getting to my point, when does the final print emerge in mind's eye?
When is visualization complete, is it in finder (GG)?
From whence did it spring?
As for Reine, is the leap to 'unnatural color' of real things a stairway stumble...
The movie is too long but fun to watch
Without the documentary, the effort that went into producing the photos doesn't really come through. All of the photos that are highlighted could have easily been shot in a studio with sets or locations with permission. What I found interesting is the thought process and need to find locations (that would make interesting photos) and then pretty much obliterating anything interesting about that location in post.

Happens less now that the grammar police are in unmarked vans...
Pre-visualization is when you visualize before you visualize...also, it's when you visualize yourself visualizing something.
You're welcome. :)

Obviously you never did advertising work where the art director gives you a layout that you have to duplicate in the photo.
Or do magazine work where you have to fill an assignment but compose to allow space for titles.
Or worked with an advertising agency where you tell the art director how you want your product shot for ads and posters or trade show art.

Nobody talks about pre-visualization anymore. All the art curators were already describing post-previsualization twenty years ago. Now it's repost-pre-post-pre-visualization.
