After not shooting LF for a long time, I am slowly getting back into it. Take with a wista 45d, Caltar 210/5.6 and Berger 400. I need to up my washing technique. Also thinking of a way to easily scan with a DSLR, this is a single image with the negative directly on top of the light box.

lovely.

I just tried setting up a DSLR scanning thing with some 35mm. I watched a bunch of videos. But I'm having a hard time with the color balance with B&W and "inverting" the image. I'm using GIMP and/or Darktable and it's not as easy to invert. I know...get Lightroom, 1 click. But I still have my trusty V700 for scanning for now. I read somewhere that you need to stitch 2 images for 4x5 and larger? Or is it 8x10 and larger?

Yes lightroom is what I use and it is pretty easy, plus if you do color you can use negative lab pro and it is even easier then. Can you use your DSLR raw shots and open them on epson scan? I have vuescan and that is what I used to do, but the LR was faster. You can definitely stitch together medium format to large format if you need that kind of resolution, for me just one picture is enough.

I'm just not ready to pay for lightroom!!! Hahah, I'm still using the standalone version. Very old. But it works. I need to boot up an virtual Win10 machine for it.

Thanks you guys. The camera was on a tripod with a long air bulb cable release. The bird was comfortable with the camera after placing some peanuts in front of it the day before.

DAng it!!! I was sooo impressed by how you handheld this like you were wearing a 3 piece suit and a cap like Weegee. With a cigar dangling from your mouf. And you call your wife "dame".

I'm so let down right now, a tripod! And you baited and waited. :)

Well, handhold expectations for a bird portrait but not for human portraits.

Okay, I'll play for July. I got a covid shot in! I know, social distancing. Yes, we had masks and we had at least 6' spread. A few good drinks and a-l-m-o-s-t dusk. I managed to get a shot in at 1/30 (shutter has 1/25 but I'll call it 1/30) @ wide open 6.3. Kodak Ektar 12" lens, 8x10, Arista EDU 400 @ 200. HC-110 Dilution H. I'm kinda liking this dilution.

Not much in post processsing. I don't love exteme contrast when it comes to portraits.

My buddy works in chip manufacturing. Scares me to think what his company sells to the government. As he calls it, "not very friendly products" aka, it kills people or aids in the killing of people. One time, during a heavy drinking sesssion "you should see the resolution we sell to the gov compared to consumers".

Mr. Steller's Jay and I have some history. He's trained me to feed him. He will fly and land really close to me trying to get my attention if I ignore him. When I come home, I hear his Rebel Yell from a distance as he flies toward me. So I decided to take his picture.
