Sinar P2 front Standard Identification help needed

Does anyone have an idea why this Sinar P2 front standard has a thicker than normal shift wheel, as in the picture?

Its supposed to be an 8x10 Special Standard, but the ones I've dealt which had the usual thinner wheels.
