150? 180?

Put another piece of rail on there and you'd be better off. I find 12 inches is okay-ish using a 180 mm on 4x5/5x7, but prefer a bit more length (I think my combination is 18 inches) so that I don't run out of room, getting in closer to subjects. The clamp takes up a bit of space too, so not all of the 6 inches are available. But answering your question, I think even a 150 would be too tight on a 6 inch rail.

Sinar 6 inch rail makes the Sinar into essentially a wide angle camera. This is often done to make the Sinar more portable or easier to pack.
Better way is to cut down the standard rail and carry two 6" rails. This way, just enough rail can be added so the rail does not get in the way for a given
lens focal length requirement.

Single 12" rail is not as ideal as it can get in the way unless long focal length lens is being used.

Will a rail for a Sinar P fit on a Norma? They are all interchangeable or no?

this 3 5/8 extension is on ebay for 275, does that price seem absurd? or can one just saw down a longer extension...

As far as I know the rails will fit any Sinar (Norma, F, P).

We aren't allowed to discuss prices around here, but the ones I bought cost me a tenth of the amount you mention ... just to give you an idea. :)

The Norma ones are square corner attach points. The later ones are round rods.

I try to get Norma but I also have modern; it works fine with Norma

IMO $275 is way over; I recently bought a few $40-$50 nice condition
