Yesterday there were reports about a catastrophic fire at Pismo Beach, the reportedly jumping HWY 1 between Pismo and Shell Beach.
Today there is no news.
Any Pismo Beachers here have any information on what's going on?

Haven't heard a thing about that. There was a big explosion at STINSON Beach right on Hwy 1, ironically just a short distance from the fire station. Even though they arrived within less than a minute, the building evidently burned down almost instantly, with shock damage to several adjacent buildings. The news a bit ago said an old "historic building" was totally destroyed, but I'm trying to visualize which one it was. Due to the time of day and unusual absence of the public due to the virus issue, there were remarkably no human casualties. I'm hoping there will be more specific news later this evening. But the various web clips claim several buildings burned down, and Hwy 1 is closed there. Just search "Stinson fire". I was over at nearby Pt Reyes a few days ago.

Don't know why you're having a problem---I got plenty of hits when I just looked to see what a Pismo is.

Oh, thanks, the Pismo thing looks like it was a relatively minor brush fire and not catastrophic at all, which is probably why we haven't heard about it up here. It's been windy here too, and that's a concern with fireworks going off almost any time of day and night for the last month; there must be some especially bored teenagers around. But another news goodie today is photog of a mtn lion roaming around downtown SF last night, and not just in a wooded area.
