Hi
Can someone point me to some examples of adaptong a large plate camera to take smaller plate holders.
I have a 24 x 30 camera and want to make an adaptor to take some half plate holders.
I was thinking the easiest method would be to sacrifice a 24 x 30 plate holder, but they are becoming hatd to come by and ecpensive. Could by a half plate camera, but I cant move for cameras now.
Just want to get my head around how to make, if I could see an example that would be helpful.
Thanks Paul

Can't you just make an insert like we do for wet plate?

Yes, but thats not what I want to do.
I will adapt the 1/2 plate holder to take 4x5's and smaller wet plates.
Just need a picture and I will be right, sure someone has done it before.
I have a 4x5 adapter for my 8x10 to take 4x5 film holders, just want similar for plate.

Guess its not rocket science, just need to tidy up, paint, light seal and make a ground glass.

Of course you CAN do what you are illustrating.

But inserts are traditionally the easiest and most satisfactory Method _ especialy if youhave a tendancy to CHANGE formats!
