My dad did a lot of large format photography in the 50's but I think he had an older camera that this lens was for. I have had it for years and wondered it if had any value. Any help identifying this would be great. I just read a post from someone that bought what appears to be a fake at auction, hoping that is not the case here.

Thanks for any help you can provide

It would be easier if you gave us all the letters and numbers on it

I can't read them from your pics

Be forewarned we are not allowed to access value or price to anything

We could advise if collectable

15cm (150mm) f6.3, Series IIb Zeiss. A tessar, I assume.

For 4x5 or smaller negatives. Not a collectable, really. Value will depend on the condition of the glass and the shutter -- and if the seller has actually used it and can vouch for its performance. The above info is enough to check on ebay for recent sales...once you accurately access the condition of your sample.

Your images do not allow for checking condition of the glass.

Hi!

Series IIb 1:6.3 f= 15cm, so a Tessar 6.3.
Recommended for 4x5".
Lens # 435611, so 1920/1921.
in Compur 0 from an Ernemann camera.
So far, so good. :-)

Best
Jens

Thanks everyone. How would I take a photo to clarify the condition of the glass? Bottom line is this is not a "museum piece" and not gonna allow me to retire, huh?

Seems to me it is not in a compur 0 shutter but in a Ernemann 'Automatverschluss' and the serial seems to read 455844.
Here you can find the many models of the camera with the lens & shutter:

Thanks very much! Does that change anything with regards to it's collectibility?
