I have recently used Fotospeed Chromium Intensifier for some flat negatives. I mixed as per instructions, washed off the yellow residue and re-developed in print dev and washed. Good result, the densities increased as I was hoping they would, four negs were Tri x and one FP4. Once dried the Tri X negs have stained brownish / slight yellowish tint appearance and the FP4 is clear as it was before hand. Is it a characteristic of the Tri X that it becomes stained after this process, or do I need to wash them some more - if its not too late?

Appreciate comments from anyone who has had experience with this stuff.

Thanks
Peter

Wash more when doing the intensifying process, and use a sulfite bath to clear the stain. The latter may work to an extent on your already processed negatives.

Its possible the Tri X had some excessive base fog that took up some intensifier and thats what you are seeing.
