I am looking at a fuji 180MM in a Copal S shutter - I am familiar with the copal numbered shutters, but cannot find the hole size for Copal S anywhere, is it actually a 3S?

Which 180 is it? For shutters used with those lenses, see http://www.subclub.org/fujinon/byfl.htm and scroll down to 180 mm.

You might try measuring the diameter of the shutter threads, with a set of calipers, and check on this site:

https://www.largeformatphotography.info/lensboard_hole_sizes.html

I had the Sub Club bookmarked, but it appears the link is dead.

This information is from the SK Grimes website202773

Copal 3 lens board hole is 65mm and the Copal 3 S is 64.1 mm

The '3' in '3S' may have simply rubbed off. It is most likely a Fujinar 180mm f/4.5 barrel lens.

I forgot about the Wista press shutters. If it is one of those, it is a #1 size. Wista press shutters were made in #0 and #1 sizes. The very last Shanel shutters were also marked Wista.
