Hello all - I had my first success in LF asking how to find a replacement front riser for my Toyo 45 from the Sixties. Going a bit further back in time I'm about to take the plunge on a Kodak No. 2-D in 5x7. Pics show the right-side brass GG clip is gone, duties taken over by Scotch tape (can't see the tartan for sure, but it looks sturdy enough, so far). I don't need an identical stitch-for-stitch replacement, just want to avoid the Duct Tape upgrade.

Any guidance appreciated.--alfredian

Way cool. How thick is the brass stock you are using?

Which cutting tool—jewelers saw?

I selected some brass that was about the same thickness as the original, don't recall the dimensions, but the stock was in fractions of an inch and not metric.
I made the rough shape with a Dremel grinder and then used fine hobby files to make the shape. It was not very difficult compared to making the bellows!

ic-racer -- thanks, that's what is missing. I do have a Dremel but my depth perception is a bit dodgy for precision work after some retinal surgery 3 weeks ago. I'll keep it in mind - there are hobby shops in the area and I may check them out post-Covid.--alfredian
