I've made dozens of dry plate with alum hardening solution... Half of them are Plain bromide-iodide solution and another half is Ammonium plate.
But there's a problem about 'Frilling' of plates...
I've Researched few books and some papers and there is numerous solution of this problem
1. Apply less Emulsion on plate
2. Add more Alum solution in Emulsion
3. Use proper Fixing bath instead of water
4. Use Hardening Fixing bath
So, I've tried 1 and 3. And 2 is being ended as a Total faliure
For 3rd Method, I've used 2% solution of Acetic acid and 4% solution of Acetic Acid as a Stopping Bath
2% solution of Acetic Acid Worked Quiet well.....But 4% solution of Acetic Acid turned out a total mess...
(Even 2% solution of Acetic Acid can't stop all of frilling)
Currently I can't get a hardening fixer..
Can you experts can give a solution of this problem...??
