I have an Epson Stylus R2400 thathas not been used in several years. The print head has dried out.

Is it possible to refurbish this printer bback to usable condition?

Are the inks still available?

Ink is still available, probably will be for years to come.

Epson has a service center locator that you can use to find a shop in your area that services the R2400 - you can call and ask about service costs, decide whether it's worth it:

If you have any inclination, upgrades are worth it IMHO. I still use an R3000 and it is a workhorse. It goes months without use and only needs a cleaning cycle to run again. The only problem it has are head strikes on thick media. Printers using the HD inksets are even better. There is a noticeable improvement in images from my P6000, especially with matte papers. The higher dmax is really obvious. I think Epson sells refurbished units regularly. If you could find a deal on a P800, that's a heck of a printer.

Thanks all. I am thinking of unloading this one, "as-is" if possible.
