I am a starter in 4x5 inch format. I just bought my equipment second-hand online from various sources.
I have bought a lens: a Schneider APO f4.5 / 180 mm MC. According to the B&H booklet, it should be in shutter Copal 0. But my lens is in a Copal 1. This is strange ! I have bought the lens online and can no longer exchange unfortunately.
Is this going to work well? If I look at the ground glass the image seems OK.

Hmm. Schneider? 180 mm? f/4.5? Sure sounds like a Xenar. Apo-Symmars are all f/5.6. Ain't no Apo-Xenars.

What is engraved on your lens' trim ring? Name, focal length, maximum aperture? What is the largest aperture (smallest number) on the shutter's aperture scale?

Stupid ! My mistake it's an f5,6.

Thought so. Short answer, lens cells that fit a #1 shutter will not fit a #0 shutter. No way, no how, even with adapters. And according to Schneider that lens is in a #1.

I just looked at B&H's site, suggest you revisit it. You may have misread https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/575291-REG/Linhof_001047_001047_Technika_45_Recessed.html

Thanks. True.
I did a search on Ebay for this lens. And see that other lenses with the same description also have a Copal 1 shutter. So think it's OK and there's an error in the 2004 B&H catalog which I used as a reference. Phew that is reassuring again. A bad buy is done quickly if you are not familiar in this area.
