Hi all, I am looking to make my own dry mount jig similar to the Zone VI dry mount jig.

I have been looking for a zero centering yardstick but have had no luck.

Places I have checked:
Amazon
Art Supply warehouse
Michael's
Hobby Lobby
Dick Blick (online)

I hope someone has a suggestion where I may buy what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance

Gary

Try searching for a zero centering ruler instead of yardstick. With a quick search I came up with this website with options up to 48". http://www.geionline.com/rulers/center-finding-zero-centered/1033a/

Metric readings are easier to work with. McMaster. It's a good idea to spend extra for etched markings rather than just painted on lines. Center-finding tape rules are available too; but I find them less convenient when working with prints or mats.

Woodpecker.com sells one that I like very much.

Variety of choices. I like mine a lot.

Their prices are good and service has always been as well. 36 inch is around $14.

Home Depot. Aluminum with centering and longitudinal scales. Etched and filled markings. 36 inch was less than 5 bucks. 48 inch (none in stock) was marked at about 7 bucks.

Thanks to everyone for the variety of responses.

I went to my local Home Depot and they did not have the centering ruler that Brian Shaw was referring to.
I went to an upscale area several miles away and visited their Home Depot and they did have the centering ruler and I bought it.

I have found this to be true for several different retail companies. The stores in my area, I live in a "Hub Zone" area , do not carry the selection or quality I find in the upscale locations.
So I was not surprised to find the ruler that was mentioned in the upscale location.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I believe Home Depot and such places have a service where you can order something in their cataloge that the store itself may not stock and pick it up at the store with no shipping charge.

I have one that is both centering and normal -- confusing at times!

If you "live life on the edge", do you need a Centering Ruler?

I never heard of it.

My ancestors most likely thought it was cheating.

I will buy one!
