Can anyone give me some advice/guidance on how to make my Nikkor-W Copal 0 lens mount on my wooden lens board with a 34.6mm hole in it. The diameter of the threaded section of the Nikkor-W where the retaining ring screws on is 32.5mm. From the lens board hole charts I've seen, a Copal 0 shutter hole should be 34.6mm. When I place the lens onto the wooden lens board, it just slops around. Am I missing some kind of spacer or something? And if a Copal 0 lens board is drilled at 34.6mm, and the diameter of a lens with a Copal 0 shutter is 32.5mm, how is that supposed to work?

Very confused. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
-Tim

Just buy a 0 lens flange and screw it onto the front of your board, or the rear, depending on the thickness of the board. Then just screw your shutter into the flange.

Thanks for the reply Bob. Not to sound like an idiot, but where does one buy a 0 lens flange?

Thanks,
-Tim

Grimes, for one, or you could contact a Rodenstock or Schneider distributor or dealer.

Thanks for pointed me to Grimes. Turns out my set up is fine. I was completely mis-understanding the mounting of the lens, thinking the 32.5mm diameter was the important one. Thanks to reading what Grimes says about mounting an LF lens, I now understand that "the hole size in the lensboard is determined by the diameter of the shoulder of the retainer ring (34.6mm) and not the thread size of the shutter (32.5mm)". So when I lined up the retaining ring shoulder with the hole in the lens board, now everything fits fine.

Thanks Bob.
