hi, i have carl zeiss jena tessar 17.5cm i could not find any info on this lens. does anyone know coverage etc?

He has compiled a lot of information in this paper and it may help you. I could only find 165mm and 180mm lengths mentioned, but the actual design looks like it's determined by the maximum aperture size, so this can give you an idea of what you have.

OP, what is the lens' maximum aperture? And are you sure the focal length is 17.5 cm? I ask because I've seem 16.5 cm Tessars in catalogs but not 17.5ers.

Lou, Arne's article is about post-WW II lenses. The OP's lens is probably much older. That the focal length is in cm, not mm, suggests this very strongly.
