Not much to say, kodak is releasing new xray film. I call it a win.

I followed through and read the pdfs, all to no avail. There's very little info. Single sided? Double sided?....

Proudly manufactured in Rochester, NY in the USA, Kodak now offers an optimized product range and competitive pricing!

Yes, but it may be very expensive and require all kinds of cost added features such as MIL SPEC and other definitions with certifications for advanced structure examination.

It also may be a way of using huge old rolls of Medical grade which is nearly obsolete in USA.

Every Med Tech I have talked to lately and often has never seen X-Ray film...

Kodak realized that people are using the x-ray film because it is way cheaper than the regular film. Therefore, this is a way of increasing the price of the old stock they have.

Our usage of X-Ray film is tiny.

Heck I cut it up for small format.

I also stocked up some time ago as some is now unavailable anywhere.

Such as 14X17 Ektascan.

My dentist used something connected to a laptop on me yesterday, and showed me the results on a TV. The contraption was larger than to old bitewings of yore and not as comfortable, but I persevered. Luckily, I haven't needed any other x-rays in a while, so I'm not sure what they are using in other settings.

One of them can be exposed directly with x-rays -- "And its versatility allows you to have direct x-ray or intensification screen options." Interesting.

Pepe -- I doubt that.

That's is surprising, but good news. I've always wanted to try those BR/A but put off buying because I've got a few of Carestream Insight Thoracic film. It's supposed to be a fine grade of X-ray film for better resolution, but that's just my guess since I have not shot it yet. I believe it's single sided emulsion, the other side has a special dye. Anyone have experience with these? Any difference between Carestream Insight and BR/A film?

Iowa!

I buy from ZZ Medical, and their address use to be on the website.

The building looks the same.

One sided with antihalation. https://www.zzmedical.com/analog-x-ray-supplies/x-ray-film/carestream-x-ray-film/8x10-in-carestream-kodak-ektascan-b-ra-single-emulsion-video-film.html

The price keeps going up every time. However, they provide good service. By mistake, I ordered the double emulsion film. I called them, ordered the single one, and refunded my money once they got the first order back. Few months ago, I paid $80 for it, it is not $97. WOW!

Last time I checked Tri-X was 8 bucks a sheet. So this new Kodak material isn't for medical. So I have no idea but I would think X-raying a pipe would require more energy. I wonder if the Kodak stuff would be of use to us guys.
So do I read this right Carestream-x-ray-film is being coated in Colorado and the Kodak stuff is from Rochester? ??

Hard to say where Kodak makes anything these days.

They market under various names. Alaris is Kodak is Carestream

I wonder if they just are using up NOS.

Carestream seems to be actual Kodak made in NY and cut in Mexico. Per the text on my boxes.

You can buy double sided X-Ray from a number of sources. Made worldwide.

I prefer Ektascan B/RA and cannot exactly remember the lower prices i paid.

I think my last 500 sheet 8X10 case of Ektascan B/RA was under $300 delivered. Now $500

I bought one 14X17 500 sheet case of Ektascan B/RA for under $800 delivered and bought my first 100 sheet box on this forum for $175. Now unavailable.

I may have a lifetime supply.

I also have made enlarged positives on Carestream 14X36 but it is also gone and replaced by 14X36 IN. FULL LENGTH AGFA X-RAY FILM
(https://www.zzmedical.com/analog-x-ray-supplies/x-ray-film/carestream-x-ray-film/14x36-in-full-length-agfa-x-ray-film.html)
I have only bought X-Ray from ZZ- Medical and have talked to them by phone. They sell only fresh in date film.

I won't buy X-Ray on eBay.
