Hi,
I got lucky ( I think) on eBay and won this brass lens pretty cheaply.
Brass is pretty worn, glass has some dust , cleaning marks and a few light scratches.
Some of the black paint inside is flaking off, and the aperture blades are missing.
No flange.
It was under-described as "old brass lens, doublet anastigmat". Further examination revealed the maker.
A search revealed that there is an optician still in business in Aarhus, Denmark named Paludan Optik.
I am going to try this lens wide open ( no choice there) on my 4x5 Speed Graphic and see what I come up with.
Searching here shows it to be a dialyte, NOT a Dagor :)
Does anybody have any more info about this lens and/or maker, and what kind of results should I expect from a wide-open dialyte?
Thanks,
Dugan

The Paludan you found in Aarhus, who is specialised retail optician, is the orignal seller of your lens!
They have had a shop at a prestigious address in central Aarhus since 1899, which matches the date of your anastigmat very well.

Paludan is, as far as I can see, a restricted surname. This means that the surname cannot be adopted by anyone outside the family which is traced back to single person in southern Jutland in the 16th century.

Paludan is the most used surname in the media the last few weeks, as a Person called Rasmus Paludan has started a new political party which is - shall we say - "less than friendly towards Islam". And Denmark has a general election at the start of June!
