View Full Version : How do I connect my Lens to the QuickSocket of a Linhof Recessed Lens Board?

I recently received a used, yet excellent, Linhof Recessed Lens Board (Copal #0) that I was excited to finally mount my wide angle lens on. Anyway, I attached the wide angle lens to the recessed lens board, but I'm having trouble connecting the part of the lens where the release cable typically attaches to the QuickSocket on the Linhof Recessed Lens Board.

Can anyone please help me out with this?

I've included photos for reference. I know that the release cable fits into the QuickSocket, but how do I connect the QuickSocket to the part of the the lenses that typically accepts the cable release? I already tried to use a paperclip, but that's not working very well, if at all, for me. :/

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Call Bob Watkins at Precision Camera and see if he has the pieces for the older board, but be aware, this probably is the board for Compur shutter’s.

You might get a replacement part, but I would bet it'll just fall out at some point anyway.

Regarding the paper clips - you've gotta use the bigger, thicker ones, and bend it just right.

Good luck.

Remove that and just use this, works like a charm:

Yes it’s not cheap but it will work great.

This is what I ended up doing after lots of fiddling trying to keep an other brand of recessed board working. Things kept shifting, loosening, and binding at the wrong times. No issues since putting the little Gepe extension on. I don’t remember it costing so much, but that pain is in the past.

You could SAVE 10 bucks if you go with this and it's all metal construction and had to have higher manufacturing cost. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/233734-REG/Gepe_603006_L_Hook_Adapter.html

Personally, none of these kinds of adapters worked on my Linhof recessed boards. The knuckle impacted the side of the board. YMMV. The flexible one worked on one of my boards.
