Scott has done a wonderful job; the gallery will be missed.

A visit to the Scott Nichols Gallery is always on my lists of things to do when I am in San Francisco. The Frankel Gallery and the Robert Koch Gallery are in the same building, and the Leica Store, which usually has an exhibit, is just a couple of blocks away.

Hello Merg. I was just there and the exhibition is called the Last Picture Show but according to Scott, he is not closing but relocating to Sonoma Square. I recommend anyone in the area to go and see this show as it is humdinger. There greatest hits as Moonrise Over Hernadez and Clearing Winter Storm but also wonderful stuff by Edward and Brett Weston, George Tice and so on. One reason to go are the 13 prints by Ansel which have turned up and not previously known. Possibly late 20s or early 30s. They are architectural in nature and very very fine prints. This may be your one chance to see them. The show was just going up when I was there and he said they researching them but at this point nothing is known about them.

I have to correct myself as the article says about relocating. It is interesting about Ansel prints as Scott was vague as to where they came from
