Despite all sources report that the Fujinon C 300mm has a 52mm filter thread, the version I received (used from Japan trough ebay) actually has a 49mm filter size.

Nothing major except I will have to buy a silly 49mm to 52mm filter adapter.

Weird anyway.

I will add it to the unfinished, unpolished lens list (8x10) that I am building (stealing ideas and data from others).

All sources similarly claim that the 450mm f/12.5 Fujinon-C has 52mm threads as well -- and mine has 49mm. My absolute total guess is that the 49mm-filter version came rather early in the product lifetime.

The 125W came in three different thread sizes. I always double-check with Fuji.

It makes sense. My Fujinon C 300 mm has the "older" Copal 1 shutter with the silver ring and has 49 mm thread, while my Fujinon C 450mm has the black Copal 1 shutter and it has a 52mm thread.

My Nikkor-W 210mm in black Copal #1 has 77mm filter. Spec says 67mm, but I have seen it on ebay with 77mm with shining rim compur. Compared to Symmar-S, it behaves much nicer on the edges, and I can lift the front 11-12mm before the lower corners get dark. Bigger filter diameter is always good when using the perimeter of coverage, to avoid vignetting with filters.

That's why, while everyone else complained about Fuji's decision to have 67mm filter threads on its shorter focal length CM-W series, I applauded and embraced it. :)
