I know they no longer make an 8x10 but is a 4x5 black and white transparency film still available anywhere?

Not specifically, but many (in fact, all) b&w 4×5 negative films can be reversal processed.

I'm fairly sure that (at least latterly) Scala wasn't available as a stock item bigger than 4x5 - and as Koraks says, pretty much any sheet BW film can be reversed - either by the Scala process or several others.

Aside from dr5, is there a loss of sharpness in the reversal process? All the B&W reversals I've seen have been relatively grainy aside from the dr5 stuff.

Any way you could share the formula/process you use?

Appreciate it! Could you recommend hypo mls for ilford delta? My first thoughts would be not to use a multi layer modern film to begin with. The older formulations are much easier to get great results with. I would suggest trying Foma 100, using no hypo whatsoever.

And the direct answer to your question is I don't know. PlusX was the most modern emulsion I have used.

Thanks Peter. These shots appear a little grainy and not super sharp. Is that the FOMA, lens, or reversal process?

Gotcha. Well I'll do some experimenting with your formula and let you know my results. That write up you put together is detailed and just what I was looking for. Thanks again.
