Has anyone had a chance to use this new scanner from Epson? If so, how does it compare to a flatbed like the 4990?

Hi Mark,
I have. You will find my impressions here:

Overall, I believe that the 4990 (that I have never used personnally) is probably a better choice. I was not overly impressed with the F-3200.

Hi Mark!
Here (http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Scanners/Epson_F3200/page-1.htm) you'll find another test. And author wasn't that impressed either. If I remember correctly, you are also using 8x10, so it'll be better for you to go 4990 route, since it can scan 8x10 also.

Thanks, Guys. I got the impression that this was more of a triumph of packaging over function.
