Need thread title changed to Silverfast, if someone could do that, would be appreciated.

I am playing around with SilverEfx, and one thing I notice is that I cannot assign keywords or descriptions to the scanned image like I can with Vuescan. Also, it does not seem to allow me to incrementally rotate an image in say 1 degree or half degree increments like you can with Vuescan. Am I missing something? I am a very good with Vuescan, but thought I would play around with Silverefx. Always good to know alternate software.

Title should be Silverfast, not SilverEfx which is another program I use for bw images.

Ok. Thanks. Epson scanner won't work with Silverfast now. Get scannercerror when try to make scan after preview. Works fine with Vuescan. Happened after last upgrade.

Try a software reset

If you are using a MAC operating system, I created a small lightweight program which allows you to write keywords into a folder of scanned files.

My Epson 4900 scanner works fine with S 8, see initial installation difficulties thread above

I talked with Silverfast folks, the version that comes with the scanner does not allow for keywords, have to upgrade to AI studio. But, it keeps honking up my Epson V850 causing it to crash. I am running the latest version, reset everything etc. However, Vuescan works just fine. Hmmm....
