How closely can you focus with a longer lens, using the rangefinder on a Technika? I ask because, with the Graflex Crown and Speed Graphic cameras, I cannot quite get close enough for a "mid-chest and up" portrait with rangefinder focusing. I think I can focus down to about 10 to 12 feet, with longer lenses. Can the Linhofs get closer with a lens in the 240-360mm range?

Don't have any cam for longer lens, but the distance scale on my cammed 210mm lens goes to 4 feet. The rangerfinder patch still moves a bit beyond 4 feet , maybe 3 feet is where it disengages.

This thread will show you how tight headshots can be done with Crown and Speed Graphic cameras. TRF makes it very convenient, but this workaround was discovered by press photographers prior to WWII.

Interesting read, thanks! I didn't know you could do such a thing.
