View Full Version : Did anybody make pouches for 5x7 film holders?

I have pouches for 4x5 and 8x0 holders, made variously by f.64 and Zone VI.

But I've never encountered any such for 5x7.
Did anybody make these? If so, where might I find same?

Can anybody suggest a pouch intended for some other purpose that would work?
It needs to be 6"h x 10"w (or 10"h x 6"w) x several inches deep, preferably with belt loops.

TIA

Probably more than you want, but I store my all of my 4x5 holders in insulated shoulder bags for 6 soda cans and 5x7 holders in 12 soda can bags. The fit is *perfect*! I think either holds about 12 holders. About $10. Very handy for car trips.

Something like this, but mine are plainer and cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/Insulated-Ramaka-Solutions-Non-Toxic-Resistant/dp/B0176ZSEKO/

Photobackpacker (RPT) made an excellent one, designed to be used with a separate detachable padded shoulder strap. It was called "Cascade Film Holder case" but unfortunately he retired and closed the business. It might be worthwhile to attempt to contact him to see if by chance he has any still left in his inventory. He is/was a member of this forum. I think his email may still work for an inquiry; here's a link to his last posting to start with (and it may offer additional possibilities at the bottom of the page):

I have a 5X7 holder bag made by Renaissance PhotoTech. Holds 4 5X7s in cascading compartments. No padding, though.

Thinktank makes very durable gear. Use quite a few of their products and they handle tough conditions. This might fit the bill https://www.thinktankphoto.com/collections/pouches/products/hubba-hubba-hiney-v3-0

and also recommend Daniel Stone and his products. He's made 're-enforced wraps' for my 4x5 and 8x10 cameras and also sleeves for individual 7x17 holders.

Take a 5x7 holder to the sporting goods department at Walmart and look for coolers. There are some that will fit 5x7 holders fine and they are inexpensive and easily replaceable. Good stuff.

and this company makes rugged gear as well. a mainstay amongst photojournalists, along with thinktank.

Dan Stone (stonephotogear.com) makes 5x7 sleeves (as well as sleeves for 4x5, 8x10, 11x14, maybe others). Fine quality work.

These are excellent: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-3S-KangRinpoche-5x7-Film-Holders-Bag-5-Pack/192566077959?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107095009%26meid%3Dd9d27ae61a1a4b0ba1c1d2def3a602a5%26pid%3D100040%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D223094199822%26itm%3D192566077959&_trksid=p2046732.c100040.m2060. At one time he made 5x7 and 8x10 cases that will hold 5 and 10 holders each but now only 5x7 that holds 5 holders.
